ESPN the Magazine - Toomer's Corner
I've been waiting for a long time to get an assignment in my home state of Alabama. Thanks to Jim Surber, the photo editor at ESPN the Magazine, my wish came true. Jim assigned me to shoot for the upcoming story (on newsstands now!) about the poisoning of the live oak trees at Toomer's Corner at Auburn University by a dumbass Alabama fan. For those of you not from the south, or sports fans, Auburn and the University of Alabama have the most heated rivalry in all competitive sports. Sorry you Yankees who believe your rivalry with the Red Sox is number one, it isn't so. I'm an Auburn fan. I'm not the best at keeping up to date but a fan nonetheless. I lived in Auburn for two years after high school. My dad, sister, uncle and brother-in-law all went to Auburn. I'd say half my friends from high school went to Auburn so this story hits home in more ways than one.The author, Wright Thompson, did an amazing job and I'm honored to have made the visual contribution to such a compelling, well written piece. You can read Wright's story here.
Oh, one last thing. WAR EAGLE!!!
